Margaret "Marge" Hattie Maurer, 92, of Chillicothe, passed away at 9pm on Friday, March 14, 2025 at OSF Richard L Owens Hospice Home with her loved ones by her side.
Marge was born January 26, 1933, in Peoria, to George and Anne (Streib) Newcomer. She attended Irving Grade School and the Academy of Our Lady, both in Peoria.
A devout Catholic, Marge lived a life filled with faith, love, and dedication to her family. She was married to her beloved husband, James Maurer, on August 15, 1953 in Peoria, and together they shared 63 years of love and happiness.
She worked at Great Central Insurance in Peoria and the Chillicothe Bulletin, but spent many years as a homemaker.
Surviving are her four children, Kim (Rick) Duda of Dunlap, Steve and Stacy Maurer of Chillicothe, Dan and Karen Maurer of Mackinaw and Kris (Drew) Wilson of Plainfield.
