PEORIA ~Sharon Beverly (Gabelhausen) Russell-Burns passed away August 24, 2024 in Peoria, Illinois surrounded by love with her family.
Sharon was born March 25, 1939 in Peoria to George and Norma (Gehrig) Gabelhausen. She married Anthony Russell on August 17, 1957 in Peoria. She spent 40 wonderful years with Tony. He preceded her in death on March 23, 1998. She was fortunate to find love again and later married Jesse Burns on February 3, 2007.
Sharon worked for many years at Community Workshop and Training Center. She loved working with people with special needs and referred to them all as her "kids". She then worked in property management at New Frontier Management and managed low-income and elderly housing for many years at Court Place in Pekin. She made many friends along the way. Sharon was a caretaker of many. She spent her life caring for others and taught her children to do the same. She was the biggest cheerleader and supporter of all her children and grandchildren's event and
