LuAnn M. Vissering, age 69, of Chillicothe, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 22, 2024 in her home, surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer.
LuAnn was born on June 29, 1955 to the late B. Eldon and Louise (Marshall) Johnson. She married John H. Vissering, Sr. on August 13, 1977. Surviving are her husband, John; her son, John Vissering, Jr., of Chillicothe; her daughter, Jennfier (Carl Mynes) Vissering of Lacon, IL; her granddaughter, Angelina Vissering of Chillicothe, IL; her brother, Richard (Cheryl) Johnson of Ozark, MO; and her sister, Nancy (Mike) LoPiccalo of Pontiac, IL.
LuAnn started her career at State Farm and then worked for Mid America Growers. While her kids were in grade school, she decided to be a stay at home mom. She rejoined the workforce with LWW Association and then became an administrative assistant working for the Soil and Water Conservation, Prairie Rivers RC&D and eventually retired from the IRS.
