Ruth Ann Demetreon, age 86, passed away on Friday, August 16, 2024 at her home.
On July 5th 1938, Arthur and Margaret Moates welcomed twin girls, Florence May and Ruth Ann. Sadly, Florence did not survive her first year of life. Ruth, however, thrived and grew up alongside her three older sisters, Bertha, Betty, and Lois. Ruth grew to adulthood and married John Thomas Demetreon of Peoria, IL. They were married in Alcorn County, Mississippi on January 7th, 1956. John and Ruth went on to have 8 children, Mary Ann, Rose Marie, Sandra Ann, John Thomas, James Curtis, Lois Stella Marie, Candy Sue, and her namesake, Ruth Ann.
Ruth, at the time of her passing, was 86 years old and had 17 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. She was much loved by her family and was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John, her sisters Bertha, Betty, and Lois, her eldest daughter Mary Ann, and by one of her great grandchildren, Zion Rose Sevcik.
