Germantown Hills ~ Robert E. Damm, 90, of Germantown Hills passed away at 11:26 p.m. Friday, June 28, 2024 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.
Born January 16, 1934 in Henry to George and Clara (Glatz) Damm, he married Mary L. Vogel in St. Mary's Church in El Paso on April 4, 1970. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, brothers Leonard and Charles Damm; and sisters, Mary Helen Johnston, Rosemary Fogl and Norma Damm.
Surviving are his sister, Margaret Murphy of Morton and several nieces and nephews.
Bob attended grade and high school in Henry and graduated from a four-year machinist apprenticeship at Caterpillar, Inc. He retired from Caterpillar with thirty-five years of service as a Senior Manufacturing Engineer.
Bob was a lifetime member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers and past member of the Peoria Elks Club.
He had served in the United States Army from 1953-1955 and was part of the Korean peace keeping force.
He enjoyed fishing and playing cards. H
