Carol A. Guynn, age 93, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 24, 2024 at Blair House in Normal, Illinois, where she was a beloved resident for twelve years.
Carol was born on January 18, 1931 in Peoria. She was the eldest child of Leo and Helen McDonough. On February 18, 1950, she married the love of her life, Charles "Chuck" Guynn.
She spent many years working as HR Manager at Proctor Hospital. Upon her retirement in 1996, she volunteered at the office of Congressman Ray LaHood.
Carol had a heart of gold with a dollop of sass. She loved all dogs, dessert for dinner, the Chicago Cubs and the blackjack tables. She also loved Diet Dr. Pepper, DQ Blizzards, the biggest cars on the market and shopping on QVC. She collected clowns and claimed Chuck as her first, followed by daughters, Kathy Taylor and Terri (Dan) Denison, grandchildren Michele Taylor, Heather (Chris) Smith, Corby (Heidi) Weaver, Shawn (Cassy) Taylor, Ross (Annie) Denison, Sybil (Jarrod) Steenblock, fourteen great grandch
