Wilma J. Christiansen, 87, of Peoria, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 23, 2024, at Christian Buehler Home.
Wilma was born July 13, 1936, in Princeton, IL to Robert and Bernice (Beever) Slutz. Wilma married the love of her life Clark Christiansen on November 10, 1957, at LaPrarie Center Methodist Church.
Wilma is survived by her children, Kay (Harvey) Rubin, Jan Christiansen and John (Linda) Christiansen; three grandchildren, Jessica Rubin (Ben Gartenstein), Jim Rubin and Ethan Christiansen and three brothers; Bill (Jenifer) Slutz, John Slutz, and Larry (Amy) Slutz.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 59 years, Clark and brother, Robert Slutz.
Wilma graduated from Methodist Nursing School in 1957. She worked as a registered nurse into her seventies and was active in the Methodist Alumni Association. In 2017, Wilma was presented with the Distinguished Alumnus Award.
